SCOTLAND’S HOUSING EXPO 2010
SCOTLAND’S HOUSING EXPO 2010
Diversity: Among some fifty homes an extraordinary variety of designs were presented, each offering intriguing possibilities for Scotland’s future housing. I hope that the conservative mindset prevalent in many of Scotland’s local Planning authorities has been blown away by exposure to this event.
Scotland’s Housing EXPO 2010 was visited by 30,000 people during August. I visited on the 16th, hoping to see innovative solutions to the challenge of creating attractive, efficient, distinctly Scottish buildings making limited use of energy and using renewable materials. I was not disappointed. As a self-employed designer working on site-specific projects, I like to relate my own work to the best practice of others. These photos and comments reveal my personal interpretation and insights from the EXPO.
